Reading a Map and Giving Direction

If you get lost without your phone (hey, it can happen), our orienteering program will teach you how to use the ever reliable map and compass. Participants will go over the basics of reading a map, pacing, and taking a bearing before setting out on an outdoor (or indoor) orienteering course.

Orienteering and map reading have everyday benefits as well, like helping you decide when to trust the GPS and when to ignore it.

Orienteering is part of our Outdoor Skills field trip or as an add-on program to any of our core adventures. Orienteering takes an hour and costs $3/participant..
