Sarah grew up in a Scouting family with a father who was a Scoutmaster for 20+ years. She earned her Gold Award in Girl Scouts and soon joined a Venturing crew. This brought her to Philmont Scout Ranch where she served on staff for 5 seasons. After college, she served with Americorps for two years (one in Charleston, SC and one in Washington, DC) before finding her way back to Minnesota. Before working for Base Camp she spent 10 years working for two local non-profits who serve the refugee community in the Twin Cities. When not at Base Camp, you can find her traveling extensively throughout the U.S. (and world!) actively trying to achieve her goal of visiting all 417 units of the National Park Service.
