Tom has been working at Base Camp since 2016. Prior to starting here, Tom got his start in Scouting as a Cub Scout in what was Viking Council (west metro area in Minnesota). From there, he continued in the Capitol Area Council of Texas, and finally accomplished his Eagle in the Black Hills Area Council of South Dakota.
Returning to Minnesota after high school, Tom attended the University of St. Thomas and taught high school for a few years before joining Base Camp staff as a summer job, which became an incredible opportunity for continued leadership and skills training (both his own and training others). He enjoys hiking and camping with his wife, Amanda, to whom he has been married for more than five years. They have a beautiful dog together, named Daisy.
