ICE/Whipple Facility Updates

Base Camp is facing unprecedented challenges tied to our location and proximity to the Whipple Federal Building and ICE Headquarters. As we navigate this difficult time, our focus remains on safety, care, and continued support for our community.

We continue to monitor the situation daily and will update you directly if we feel there will be an impact to your experience with us.

Campus Security Guidelines

Our top priority is the safety of people at Base Camp. We will work to ensure that our program, office, and grounds are safe and welcoming. We understand the concern that people have, and we want to partner with you in the way that makes you feel comfortable.

Here are some points that you can share with others in your group in preparation:

• Like schools, our Team Building Center is secured with locked doors when students are present.
• For any overnight programs, a Base Camp staff member will be spending the night in the building.
• Our campus is private property, and we do not permit parking or use by others engaged in Scouting or Base Camp events.
• Hennepin County Sheriff’s office is on site to keep access to Base Camp safe. They are responsive when we need support on our campus.
